Welcome to the EBMRS

The East Bedfordshire Model Railway Society (EBMRS) is simply a club where enthusiasts gather to chat and operate and build model railways.

The society was formed in 1961 as a local club and was previously known as ‘The Biggleswade & District Model Railway Society’, but changed its name to EBMRS in 1980 to reflect the wider geographic membership and their evolving pursuit of prototypical accuracy.

We currently operate 2 exhibition layouts, Sutton and Cheriton Bishop, which regularly receive invitations to shows around the UK and sometimes abroad, and both are available for exhibition on request. We also host our own exhbition each year, generally in early February, which is held in the main hall of Stratton Upper School, Biggleswade and to which we typically invite 15-20 layouts. For details click here.

We are now developing two new layouts, Finchley Road St Johns Wood (4mm) and Aylesbury (2mm), both of which have been extensively researched and are now under construction and which occupy a great deal of our club night meetings.

The club meets most Tuesday evenings in The Roundabout Club, Sandy, between 19:30 and 22:00. For directions click here.

Why not come along and see our layouts at one of the shows listed here.
